Some wonder what I mean when I say “and then some” in the title of the book. Digital cameras provide new tools like the histogram that make metering light even more amazing. I provide a solid explanation of these newer tools in conjunction with middle gray.
What is important to know is this – that your camera (your camera’s meter to be more precise) “sees” middle gray. It wants to average all the light it sees in a scene and give you the most usable setting to get a “correct” exposure.
